Abstract

A study was conducted on the behavior of a reaction-diffusion-convection system with a simple polynomial activator-inhibitor kinetics, that admits homogeneous solutions and a front that separates them. This model was a gross simplification of real kinetics in commercial reactor. This model was used since certain analytical results can be derived for this learning model.
