Abstract

An experimental study of forces and moments acting on cylindrical bodies in a translational and rotational motion was carried out. The experiments were made using several plastic cylinders of different length-to-diameter ratios. The video images of the free-fall trajectories were digitized to retrieve the temporal evolution of the cylinder linear and angular positions.
