    Overview

Dr. Ivan Savenko is an Associate Professor at the Guangdong Technion-Israel Institute of Technology (GTIIT) in Shantou, China. Here is his personal (group) website: http://luminteam.com.

Dr. Savenko's research interests include light-controlled superconductivity, light-matter interaction in 2D systems and hybrid Bose-Fermi systems, spin-valley phenomena in 2D materials (MoS2), spatial and temporal coherence of exciton-polariton condensates.

Ivan did his Ph.D. in Physics in 2013 at the University of Iceland in Reykjavik, Iceland.
Working on his Ph.D. thesis, Ivan also became a visiting Ph.D. fellow of NORDITA in Stockholm, Sweden, and had an internship at the International Institute of Physics (IIP) in Natal, Brazil. Further, in 2012-2013 Ivan worked as a Research Assistant at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. In June 2013, Ivan defended his Ph.D. thesis entitled, “Strong light-matter coupling in systems of different dimensionality”. From 2013 to 2016, Ivan worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Aalto University, Finland. In 2016 Ivan was awarded the DECRA personal grant from the Australian National University (ANU). From 2016 he worked as a Junior Research Team Leader at the Center for Theoretical Physics of Complex Systems (PCS), Institute for Basic Science (IBS) in Daejeon, South Korea. In 2017, Dr. Savenko became an Assistant, and then, Associate Professor at the University of Science and Technology (UST) in Daejeon, South Korea. In 2022, Dr. Savenko habilitated at the Institute of Semiconductor Physics (Novosibirsk, Russia). From June 2023, Ivan works at the GTIIT.
