N2 - The silylated phosphanylsilylcyclopentadienes 1- and 3-SiMe3-1-SiMe2PHRC5H4 [R = Ph (1), Cy (2)] and phosphanylalkylcyclopentadienes 1-, 2- and 3-CMe2PHtBu-1-SiMe3C5 H4 (3) were prepared from LiPHR and 1-SiMe3-1-SiMe2ClC5H4 and Li[(1- PHtBuCMe2C5H4] and SiMe3Cl, respectively. Complexes 1 and 2 react with ZrCl4 to give [((η5-C5H4)SiMe2PHR) ZrCl3] [R = Ph (4), Cy (5)], and 3 reacts with MCl4 with formation of [((η5-C5H4)CMe2 PHtBu)MCl3] [M = Ti (6), Zr (7)]. Complexes 1-7 were characterised by NMR and IR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry. Complexes 4-7 were studied in the catalytic polymerisation of ethene and propene with activation by methylalumoxane (MAO) as cocatalyst.
