Abstract
A mathematical model for the filtration of dust in granular filters under the influence of a Coulombic force is developed. The paper considers the effect of filter porosity and external field orientation on the filtration efficiency of inertialess, inertial, and diffusional aerosols. Calculated filtration efficiencies may be used to design electrostatically enhanced granular filters.
