Abstract
The flow and temperature fields are solved for convex rivulet flow on the crest of a straight-edged groove and for concave rivulet flow in the bottom of the groove. The effect of the plane inclination in the range of 0 < α < π is accounted for. The general solution converges to the case of flow on a vertical wall where α = π/2. Solutions for the heat transfer coefficients are presented for boundary conditions of constant flux, constant temperature or costant resistance at the wall. The results are presented for aluminium-water system at 70°C with a constant contact angle of 37.7°
