Abstract

Experimental and analytical studies are presented directed to the prediction of flow pattern transitions in a vertical rod bundle array. The test section used consists of a 24 rod matrix on a square pitch in a cylindrical shell. Analytical models are given based on physical interpretation of the transition mechanisms. Data on rise velocities of small and large bubbles in rod bundles are also presented.
