Abstract

The paper describes an algorithm for the determination of substrate A and reaction coefficients k1, and k2 in the successive reaction A → k B → k C, by the kinetic detection of B. The algorithm is studied by using simulated data with different levels of superimposed noise and different rate constants, initial concentrations, and data densities. The algorithm Is evaluated mainly for determination of A but also for finding the reaction constants. This algorithm was found to be suitable for a wide range of concentrations and rate constant values, and in many cases a prior estimate of the order of magnitude of the parameters is sufficient.
