Abstract

The mechanism of stationary pattern formation in the convection-reaction-diffusion (CRD) system for learning cubic kinetics was analyzed. It was found that pattern selection depends upon on kinetic model, the type of instability, the applied boundary conditions and the reactor length. The results were obtained with a learning kinetics for a range of parameters when the corresponding lumped system exhibited oscillatory or bistable kinetics.
