Abstract

This chapter is mainly concerned with the synthesis methods known for preparing bismuth ferrites either in powders or in thin-films. The experimental techniques employed for their characterizations are thoroughly explored. The synthesis methods used for obtaining ferrites of different structures and morphologies including hydrothermal, solvothermal, microwave, mechanothermal, seed-hydrothermal, sol-gel, chemical bath deposition, so-called coprecipitation or wet chemical synthesis, radio frequency, thermal plasma, spray pyrolysis, and electrodeposition technique etc., are throughly presented.
